The Premier League's record goalscorer does not
believe the Manchester United forward can compare to the best in the
world any more
The Manchester United striker scored the winning goal as Jose Mourinho's side defeated Crystal Palace 2-1, prompting Phil Neville to lavish praise on the 35-year-old.
"He plays every minute of every game. The EFL Cup, Europa League, he goes to Russia and comes back and plays," Neville told BBC's 'Match of the Day'.
"I think he's world class. That's what world class players do, they play in every minute of every game. They don't want resting."
However, Shearer was less than impressed with his description, claiming that he might have once been at that level, but can no longer compare to today's greatest players.
FULL TIME: Middlesbrough 0-3 Liverpool
"Let's have a look at this world class," the Premier League's record goalscorer began."Messi, Ronaldo, [Luis] Suarez. Is he as good as those three? He was world class, no doubt about it."
