Fresh concerns over Kompany fitness following Belgium set-back

The Manchester City centre-back has been plagued by injuries over the past 12 months and pulled out of the starting line-up to face the Netherlands on Wednesday
Vincent Kompany sparked fresh concerns about his fitness on Wednesday night by pulling out of Belgium’s starting line-up at the eleventh hour.

Kompany was named in Roberto Martinez’s starting XI for the game against the Netherlands in Amsterdam but was withdrawn shortly before kick-off after alerting medical staff that he had felt some discomfort during the warm-up.
It is believed the City defender has suffered a minor muscle problem and will miss the World Cup qualifier against Estonia on Sunday.
It represents yet another set-back for the injury-plagued centre-back who has struggled to break into Pep Guardiola's team this season.
Kompany started the current campaign on the sidelines thanks to a groin injury he sustained during May’s Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid.
That was the fourth time during the 2014-15 season that he limped out of a match, and the third time he was forced off having only just returned from the previous complaint.
